Changemakers convene at LeadingAge Ohio conference
This week several members of our leadership team represented Jennings' changemakers at the annual LeadingAge Ohio conference, where the theme is "Celebrating the Changemakers." It has been an opportunity to connect with organizations and vendors who partner with us to make what we do possible. It has also been inspiring to be surrounded by so many like-minded professionals who share our passion and desire to provide meaningful, quality care and support an exceptional quality of life for people we serve.
Keynote speaker Petra Marquardt asked: "Are you a light or darkness as a leader?" It was a simple question, but a powerful one. Every interaction we have leaves an impact. We can bring calm or create stress. We can build people up or tear them down. We can help someone see possibilities they didn't see in themselves.

At Jennings, we're reminded every day that people want to be seen, heard, respected, and valued. That's where real change begins. Our team had some thoughts about what it means to be a changemaker and how to keep moving agingservices forward:
- See possibilities where others see limitations.
- Be willing to challenge the way we've always done things.
- Find new and creative ways to serve.
- Look continuously for ways to improve lives.
- Show up for people consistently, especially during the toughest moments.
- Be the support and advocate that someone needs.
- Know who you choose to be, not just what you choose to do.
- Encourage people to be their best selves, reminding them that they are capable of more than they realize, and helping them find confidence during each phase of their lives.
At every age and every stage of life, we all have the opportunity to be a changemaker. What does it mean to you to be a changemaker?
