Jennings honors history with Founder's Day Mass

Thank you to everyone who celebrated with us for Jennings' Founder's Day Mass on March 1. Jennings was founded on March 17, 1942 by the Sisters of the Holy Spirit through a bequest from Monsignor Gilbert P. Jennings.

We were honored that this mass was celebrated by Father Walter Jenne, who has a long-time relationship with Jennings and the Sisters. Along with Fr. Jenne, Fr. Len Obloy, Fr. Howard Ziemba, Father Andras Antal, and Deacon Dan Galla concelebrated Mass. Father Walt gave a touching homage to the legacy created by the Sisters of the Holy Spirit. Jennings' Resident Choir --- along with staff members Sr. Valerie Sweeney, SND, Kathy LiPuma and Ted Steiner --- shared their beautiful voices for our music.

Following Mass, donors and guests joined us for a delicious brunch prepared by Executive Chef Judson Smith and the culinary services team. Guests enjoyed their food and fellowship in our Recreation Room, Family Room and Pub, where we also served mimosas and bloody mary beverages.

The Jennings staff recognizes and appreciates all those who have supported and championed Jennings and the Sisters of the Holy Spirit and helped us evolve from the "rest home" built in 1942. Sisters' legacy of love continues today through the steadfast dedication of the staff, as well as the generosity of volunteers and benefactors.
