We were honored to be joined by Catholic Diocese of Cleveland Bishop Edward Malesic, who delivered an inspiring invocation. He recognized the residents in attendance and added, "We think we're giving them a lot, but...the residents give us a lot more when they allow us to practice our Christian virtues, the virtues of kindness and patience, generosity and love. Thanks to the residents over here for allowing us to do what God wants us to do - to be people of love."
Chief Development Officer Jean Turcu, together with Nancy Sutula, Executive Director of Jennings' Garfield Heights campus, led an exciting Live Auction. President and CEO Allison Q. Salopeck thanked guests for their support and recognized the longstanding relationships of many in the audience whose impact has helped Jennings build new residences and services for older adults. "Yesterday would not have been possible, today would not be our reality, and tomorrow would be unreachable without you. You make the mission of Jennings come to life."
The highlight of the evening was the performance of Jennings' resident choir. The choir, which represents adults who live in Jennings' independent living, assisted living and long-term care, sang the song "Kindness and Gratitude" with Director of Mission and Ministry Ted Steiner and Pastoral Care Associate Sister Valerie Sweeney. The performance brought guests to their feet for an overwhelming standing ovation.
The evening's fund the mission surpassed its $30,000 goal thanks to our guests vigorous paddle raising generosity! These funds will be used for an innovative project that serves Jennings residents.
Thank you to the staff and volunteers, led by Chief Development Officer Jean Turcu and Associate Director of Development Jenny Kutik, who brought the event to fruition. We appreciate the talent of emcee Bob Hale, whose lively interaction encouraged the live auction bidding and tracked the raising paddles! We also enjoyed the live music of Dave Casper who delighted guests during cocktail hour by moving through the venue playing the saxophone. Special thanks also to our friends at Hughie's Event Production Services for the technical support that ensured our guests could see and hear our messages as they enjoyed their evening.

Above all, thank you again to the generous sponsors and guests who supported our mission! Your choice to support Jennings makes a difference.
