Jennings honors Veterans
On Veteran's Day, it was a privilege to honor veterans who are part of the Jennings family.
Jennings at Brecksville residents honored veterans with a pinning ceremony. Residents led the music including the military medley. They also read the Old Glory Poem and recited a special prayer. Volunteer Dan Lester, who is also a veteran, pinned and salutes veterans as we thanked them for their service. In honor of those veterans who are not with us, we remembered them by setting the “missing man table.”
At Jennings' Garfield Heights campus, staff hosted an annual honor ceremony, which began with a flag folding ceremony indoors. Staff Sergeant Daniel Hudson and Staff Sergeant Dwayne Soblosky folded the flag while Director of Life Enrichment Danielle Paluscsak narrated to explain the meaning of each of the folds. Following this preparation, the Staff Sergeants processed outside with the folded flag to the flag pole on our front lawn. Jennings staff members processed with flags from each of the service branches and stood by as the flag was raised. Local Amvets Post 80 Honor Guard fired a gun salute and played Taps to honor those who lost their lives as the flag was lowered to half staff. The celebration continued inside with a pinning ceremony and luncheon. We read aloud the names of each veteran, thanking each veteran personally while staff members pinned them with a United States flag lapel pin.
What an honor to celebrate these individuals who served our country! Thank you to all who have served or are serving today.
