St. Michael's students, PTU welcome fall and bring joy to Jennings at Brecksville residents

Mum's the word! Well, really our word is "love" for the St. Michael's students, families and PTU. They warmed our hearts and welcomed fall by spending an afternoon with us and gifting residents with these gorgeous mums!

Residents were stunned by the lovely surprise and the colorful mums, and they were so moved by the generosity of this community for bringing them joy. We also enjoyed playing bingo with our student friends. Jen Karis from St. Michael's PTU explained how parents "were talking about how pre-COVID the preschoolers and younger students would walk over and spend so much time at Jennings at Brecksville. They really enjoyed it." And then protocols in schools and health care settings changed.

So when St. Michael school had its big fall mum fundraiser, the PTU added an option for families to donate money toward mums for Jennings at Brecksville residents and staff. Their generous gifts brought 40 mums to us!

Jen added that it was fun to see the intergenerational bingo: "the kids loved playing bingo with multiple cards, and it was fun to watch the residents tell them 'come sit with me!"

Always believe the difference you can make in someone's life with an act of kindness and generosity! Thank you, St. Michael's community for the blessing that you are to Jennings!
