Matradee robots complement culinary services team

Have you seen robots in our dining rooms? Jennings welcomed new Matradee service robots to complement the culinary services teams in the Garfield Heights and Brecksville assisted living residences. The robots were made possible by funds donated to Jennings to pursue innovation and technology.

Matradee robots do not take the place of staff members. Instead they can improve the quality of services by moving meals from the kitchen to table and enabling staff members to spend more time interacting with residents for an excellent dining experience. Staff members are also using Matradee to return finished plates to the kitchen.

"Residents and staff find the technology impressive," remarked Sarah Barger, Executive Director of Jennings at Brecksville. "It took the staff a little time to let Matradee take on some of the work for us. It's exciting to see how technology can help us improve our processes by taking on some physical tasks and giving us back the time for great service."

At Jennings' Garfield Heights campus, residents held a naming contest and named their Matradee "Jenny". They thought it was a good fit to give the server a feminine name that is similar to Jennings
