Jennings to receive funds from United States bipartisan spending bill
Jennings is pleased to announce that it expects to receive a congressionally directed spending award secured by Senator Sherrod Brown as part of the federal funding package passed by the Senate on March 10, 2022. The $700,000 award will be used to purchase and install safe movement equipment at three Jennings sites in Northeast Ohio: Jennings' nursing home on itsGarfield Heights campus, Jennings at Notre Dame Village assisted living community in Chardon, and Jennings at Brecksville assisted living community. The equipment includes ceiling mounted resident lift systems and sit-to-stand lifts. This equipment will help reduce lifting and transferring injuries experienced by numerous healthcare workers which force them to stop working long before retirement age. This workforce is critically needed to support Ohio’s aging population. At the same time, the equipment provides a safe and convenient option for nursing home and assisted living residents who require assistance with transferring.
Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that the "The U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday approved a bipartisan spending bill that would fund the U.S. government through the end of 2022, and provide money for thousands of projects throughout the United States..." It inclues the funding for Jennings. The bill now moves to the US Senate and is expectedd to pass, and then would be signed into law by President Joe Biden.
