On June 11, Jennings residents and staff came together in the Chapel for a prayer service to encourage unity and stand against racism. Residents and staff members took part as others (physically distanced) prayed and sang in unity. We opened by singing “Wade in the Water,” prayed together and read scripture verses, and closed by singing “We Shall Overcome.”
Residents and staff members chose pins that inspire unity and remind us that Jennings’ values of respect and community reject racism. Chief Mission Leader Sister Valerie Sweeney thanked participants and said, “Let’s continue to celebrate our unity together here at Jennings and in our nation. Whenever we see on the news anything about the need for racial equality, let’s lift that up as a continuation of this prayer service.”

My father moved into Jennings in June 2024 and has nothing but good things to say about Jennings. The food is great, the staff is so nice and everything is so clean!! The rooms are spacious and the apartments are very bright. It is a relief knowing your loved one is safe and happy. It was definitely the right move for my father.
