Through her career at Jennings, Allison has been instrumental in the transformation of Jennings from a nursing home into a continuum of services across four locations for successful aging with many choices in residences and services. She leads not only with her sharp intellect but with her generous and warm heart. Through her leadership, Jennings has maintained a reputation for high quality, person-centered care and innovative services. Likewise, she is attentive to the difference a hug and a few minutes of her time can make in the life of an individual. Allison personifies the qualities of servant leadership with unwavering commitment to Jennings’ not-for-profit mission. She gives of herself tirelessly whenever there is a need.

The nomination highlighted several of Allison’s leadership traits, including:

  • Allison has earned the respect of state and national policy makers as a result of her significant advocacy efforts. Through numerous personal visits with legislators in Columbus and Washington, D.C., she has helped countless legislators understand the challenges aging services providers face when it comes to our ability to effectively ensure the best quality of life and quality of care for the people we serve.

LeadingAge Ohio President and CEO Kathryn Brod said of Allison: “LeadingAge Ohio sought Allison as a board member because we desired the strength of her voice. She is unwavering in her commitment to bring clear-headed thinking to regulations that will reform the manner in which quality services are provided to aging Ohioans.
